Quick guide because I just discovered this. I don’t know if anyone else already posted about it but just in case!

Have you been looking at your blog, and found that a post was hidden, but not been able to appeal because there is no option to?

It should look like this:

If you click on “Permalink” it will simply say that the post isn’t found.

So what you do is that you copy the url, but you remove “hey-this-post-may-contain-adult-content-so-weve” from the link.

Paste the URL into a post, like this

Press “save draft” and then click on the link. Rather than opening in a new window or opening immediately, it should open on the side, like this:

Press “appeal”. Done!

So I had noticed a few days ago that @woodendreams, a blog that I don’t follow but shows up on my dash from time to time, has suddenly started posted pictures of women, but you know what’s odd? 

They are a nature blog.

I believe that they have been possibly hacked by a porn bot, since the names under the pictures link to a porn site.

Please, do NOT reblog or favorite any of the pictures of the women that have been/are posted to their blog, and please check any of the blogs you follow or show up on your dash that have just a picture of a woman with their named linked under the image.

If you see that they suddenly have an influx of these types of pictures PLEASE notify them of what’s happening!

With everything that the staff have fucked up on the site, I’m worried that an innocent blog might get flagged, or censored, or even suspended/deleted/banned because of this.

Please, signal boost this as much as you can to spread the word; I have no idea how badly this could get, but this may be the start of a HUGE problem.

ok so! just a little update. i was planning on coming back in the next year or so but life had to throw another curveball. my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and was then let go from her job as a trucker. we dont have any income and are basically living off of my social security benefits and our savings. my family lost my dad to cancer only 3 years ago. were still hurting from that and now its back again. i hate asking for money but im helpless at this point, if i lose my mother, me and my sister will be homeless. any dollar helps. thank you.

You can edit the settings page to change it.

This is my naughty blog right now. Notice how the icon is that snazzy default thing?

That’s because it’s set to explicit, a setting that was locked after the great purge:

BUT

If you right-click on that toggle and click “inspect element”, you can change that.

Notice how the input tag has a disabled attribute? Just remove that whole thing:

The toggle is now active

And toggleable

And now, after a quick refresh, my old (crap, but real) icon and header image are back, and the blog is no longer treated as hidden or explicit.

The goggle also disappears after the refresh, but it’s worth noting that you can also edit the toggle back into the settings panel and change your blog back to explicit if you so desire.

This is a perfect example of the laziness of tumblr’s devs. They haven’t removed the functionality, they’ve just kinda-sorta hidden it a bit; the end-point that the explicit toggle hits is still there.

I am writing on behalf of LanaCCFinds aka @sssvitlans. Being a part of the Sims Tumblr community for 2-3 years now, Sssvitlans has been the only source for me and loads of other Simmers to find custom content aka custom downloads for the Sims game and without her Tumblr blog, we are all lost about where to find anything properly, because she has very carefully categorized and collected most custom content links out there and without this catalogue, we will have no idea where to get anything. Her hard work is the reason that most of us also gather on Tumblr specifically to post our Sims updates as she gets our blogs recognition and helps us find and download CC that we like. By deleting her account or marking her as NSFW, you are directly destroying not only our community here and her account, but our chance to connect to other Simmers out there and their creations, as there will be no place we can go to, to find them anymore nor their work. PLEASE seriously reconsider your decision to delete her account as with her, A LOT of disappointed Sims players will most likely be leaving Tumblr, too. This is beyond you and Tumblr as a website, it will be a community you are destroying and not only her blog, so on behalf of all those people, who are worried out of their minds right now over your current decision to delete Sssvitlans’ Tumblr blog, I am kindly asking you to reconsider and to not do this to us.

Hey guys!

So for all of you who have Simblr’s…. I have just gone through every single one of my 4,2900+ posts since 2013. Overall, I would say about 35 of my posts and reblogs had flags on them…. ultimately making up less than 1% of my content being flagged despite not having any “Adult Content”…. aside from some Sims were not wearing clothing in about half of those posts.

There doesn’t seem to be a concrete rhyme-or-reason to the automated flagging, but here’s what  I’ve noticed got flagged the most.***

Images, GIFs, Videos from any of the Sims games that included the following tended to get flagged more often:

1. Sims on fire, or near a fire
2. Stretched-Sims (particularly pets, kids, toddlers, babies, and sometimes shirtless / unclothed Sims)
3. The Sims 2 Bigfoot got flagged a lot for some reason
4. Sims that were pixeled out
5. Glitches where clothes were skin-colored, or sometimes Sims with no clothing
6. Kissing Sims
7. Sims lying down on the floor
8. Sim Bots sometimes get flagged
9. Ghost Sims, or Sims being electrocuted
10. Sims with well-defined derrières or chests
11. Sims in their underwear
12. Burnt Sims or Sims who have died of hunger
13. Floating heads (the body/outfit is missing), armless, legless Sims

***Do note that while I found a lot of posts with these subjects flagged, a lot of times posts that had these didn’t get flagged. And some random things got flagged too, like a Sim with a beard and a cowboy hat got flagged for some reason, and a Sim who was turned into a frog got flagged too.

I have appealed all my posts that I believe have wrongly been flagged, and removed those that I figured maybe Tumblr didn’t like. Hopefully I’ll get a response tomorrow or in the upcoming days about the appeal.

My advice for all of you is, check your posts, and appeal if you believe your stuff was incorrectly flagged! This is a chance for the staff to fine tune their algorithm by giving them real examples of how the current system needs refined.

You can check to see which posts of yours or reblogs you’ve made are flagged by clicking the little buddy icon below which is on the upper right side of your screen:

From there, click “Posts” and then scroll through to see what’s been flagged. If it’s a post you directly uploaded to your blog, you have the choice to “Review” (which means to appeal) and if you select that option, you have the choice to have someone review the post and get e-mailed on the updates!

Example:

A photo of my Sim literally just scratching her armpit was flagged as “Adult Content”. 

Mistakes happen. Let the staff know about these things, because i’m sure they’re going to need all the good PR they can get now haha.
