J’aime beaucoup écrire, mais j’ai peur d’écrire un truc débilitant,

J’ai peur de tomber dans ce genre de chose car je pense être inférieure aux autres.

I love writing, but I’m scared, I don’t want to write something full of stupidity, very icky beacuse the readers will think I don’t have any sense of writing and even no inteligence at all, because those stories are not very interesting….And people won’t waste their time with such useless things which is normal.

That scares me to death….I really don’t want to write one of those cheesy stories because simmers are not fond of those drippy stories ( maybe the very young ones under 15 like those sappy stories ) and don’t really like that kind of thing either….too ridiculous….and boring and not good enough for the audience.

The title is pretty self explanatory, but this is pretty much a list of my must-haves for my play save. They’re a mix of replacements, graphics tweaks, and mods aimed for the best, most smooth experience.
STRAWBERRY ACRES | This world has a lotta reasons to love it. It’s gorgeous, it’s got plenty of lots, and it runs like butter. @createaworldblog creates all the assets for their worlds off of EA meshes, then packs it conveniently into an easy to load merged package file. Which only means one thing, Peak Performance. Be sure to check out their other worlds as well!
PRIMER | This is an absolutely wonderful, all-around skin made by @kurasoberina. I highly suggest using the SD version as a default for your townies, and no higher than the HD non-default version for your own sims, to keep your GPU running cool and happy.
NRAAS MODS | There’s honestly no way you can play TS3 without being aware of the existence of Nraas, and their bountiful bouquet of performance enhancing, and immersion enhancing mods. Keep your town, and every sim in it in check with Overwatch, control your population with Register, and unlock a plethora of user-friendly options with Master Controller. There’s literally nothing on this site that isn’t worth a go.
URANESIA WEATHER | This is one of a few of @nilxis‘s weather, and lighting mods that really adds that extra bit of pop to your visuals. Whether it’s the super cool blue nights, the crispy bright sunlight, or the serene green sunrises, there’s not a single reason not to love this mod.
SAM4V2|This is a mod that isn’t necessarily for everyone, but it replaces the male torso to look less… Hmmm… Boxy? I like it, so there. XD
ENCHANTED ENVIRONMENT|This is a comprehensive collection of lovely replacers for bunches of environmental elements for your sim’s world. They’re all lovely, and will add an extra touch of realism when your sims head out to enjoy the great outdoors.
BETTER SHADOWS | This is a very quick, and simple graphics rules edit to get higher resolution shadows. Why would I need higher resolution shadows, you ask? Mainly to get rid of the blockiness of them, but also because they, for me anyway, look much better overall.
OMSP | OMSP stands for One More Slot Please, which in a world where EA thinks only two or three slots are necessary on an end table, trust me, you’re going to find use for this. It’s a very strange looking table that becomes invisible when you go into live mode, and can be moved up and down. So yes, the days of having a million of them in your catalog in varying heights, is over. I also highly suggest looking into other OMSP’s, like this one that tilts objects placed on it, and this one that resizes them.
AWT EYEBALL MESH FIXED BY BUHUDAIN | This is pretty straight forward, but if you’re new to meshes for sliders, it’s basically an eyeball that can be changed using custom sliders. So the iris/pupil size, shape, can be altered, and it also just looks better to me quality wise. Be sure to read the description thoroughly, on which to use, only one is slider compatible, and also where to get the sliders themselves. For kids, and toddler versions, check out these.
POSEPLAYER | This one is pretty self-explanatory, but while you’re at it, why not get this add-on to go with it?
REMOVE STENCILS | The speculars in TS3 at times, are kinda gross, and a lot unnecessary. Remove them with this mod, and also any unwanted patterns on objects, and even clothes.
SIMSL3GACIES HQ MOD | This is an HQ mod, that isn’t quite strong, but will just make the textures in game look better, without eating up performance. I for one, do not mind the glowing junk in my game, but there is also a No-Glow version, which I’ve heard also adds an extra bit of performance boost, but don’t quote me on it.
BLOOM’S SEXY FEET | IDKW sims have duck feet in TS3, I honestly wish I knew, and if they bug you as much as they bug me, feel free to try out these feet replacers instead. For kids, and toddlers, check out these.
TRAELIA’S PET EYE FIXES | Ever notice how shitty your sim pet’s eyes look? That black dot? It’s supposed to be white. Use these to mend that, and just their look overall.

In the wake of the last couple of days I would like to tell all of you who may be dealing with various mental health issues to, when it seems to much, take a second to breathe deeply. Catalog things in your mind things that help you, give you strength and joy as in these trying times we need them.
As someone who’s dealt with anxiety for five years and depression on and off for three I would like to tell you that asking for help is not weak. It is not failing nor conceiving. It is perhaps the strongest thing you can do to realise that you need help.

As someone who’s recently been prescribed anti-anxiety meds and who’s now feeling the best I have felt in years I would like to say that your darkest moment does not define you. You are your smiles, your laughs and everything in between. Your mental illness does not nor ever will define you and I promise you that you are stronger than you know. If all you did today was breathe? You did so amazing and wonderful. If you just went to the store despite dreading it? You are so strong. If you went to work despite not wanting to leave the house you are truly extraordinary and should be proud of yourself.
Look after yourself as you are more than you know.
And please, talk to people around you. Hold your loved ones close and perhaps the people who we don’t talk to so often closer. Breathe deeply and know that without darkness we could not see the stars.

J’ai certains de mes Sims qui ont des combustions spontanées , qui meurent brûlés vifs quand ils sont dehors dans la rue et je ne peux rien faire pour les sauver c’est trop tard à chaque fois. C’est la première fois que je vois ça et je suis désespérée. Il y a pas eu de chute de météorite ni même de sorciers maléfiques qui les ont cramés pour le fun, nous sommes le premier jour de l’été dans l’une de mes sauvegardes où ces morts atroces surviennent.
Trois de mes sims sont morts Gabriel, Norah et Daniel et j’ai dû les supprimer pour les remettre en ville pour leur éviter de les croiser leurs doublons au cimetière.
Je déteste ce fléau je pense que c’est un bug et je ne trouve pas de solutions.

Okay. Another thing folks have to realize is that Tumblr is a personal blog site. Most people writing here are doing it as a hobby and I don’t think anyone is getting money for their Sim stories. So, that changes the dynamic in how people write and the level of care they use in their writing.
Personally, I would never write about an experience I’ve never gone through without thorough research. Any experienced writer knows a story will be so much more well-written when you take the time to research. I spent so much time researching Haven, and it has been the story where I got the most positive feedback. I never lived in a cult, but my research was so thorough, former cult members actually wrote me and praised my handling of the subject. Man, that was a great feeling.
BUT- some folks are not going to do that for a Sims story. They’re just not. They are going to write off the top of their heads. They are going to write inaccuracies, they are going to fill their stories with stereotypes, they are not going to be diverse with their characters, they may even perpetuate dangerous ideas. I’ve seen stories where stalking is portrayed as romance. Stories where victims fall in love with their rapists. Stories where teen pregnancy is portrayed as easy (I’ve been guilty of this), and couples live forever with their high school sweethearts. Stories that have zero diversity, stories that make no sense, stories that are offensive. Stories where zero research was done.
Guess what I do with those stories? If I like the writer, I will send them a message or an Ask OFF Anon because I’m mature and brave like that and point out the inconsistencies. If I don’t like the writer and I know they have a “nonchalant, I do what I want attitude” I will un-follow or even block them. It’s that simple.
Listen, on and off Simblr is a world filled with shitty, poorly written, awful stuff. We’ve all read bad books, seen bad movies, viewed poorly executed artwork. It’s life. I’ve had stage one cervical cancer and I’ve been in a horrific car accident and I was a victim of a hate crime. I WISH my experiences were always handled with care, but often they are not. I can take ownership, and choose to ignore the badly written work or I can express my displeasure politely ( DRAGGG THEMMM! is not polite and I’ve seen that written here) and hope for the best. Not everyone is going to be receptive to constructive criticism, and it hurts, but bullying them is not the way to go. To police creativity (unless it’s blatantly dangerous, like inciting hate or violence or suicide) is not acceptable, especially since people perceive life and hardship in so many different ways. For example, what makes one domestic violence victim uncomfortable could trigger no reaction at all in another, so how can we dictate how a story about domestic violence should be written, except to maybe suggest the writer conduct research, which again they do not HAVE to? I wish everyone would write in a balanced, well thought out way, but that’s not the world we live in. Try to open up a dialogue that is polite, respectful and honest even if inside you are seething. Writing rant posts and sending hate anons may feel good in the moment, but ultimately solve very little in the big picture, in my humble opinion.

I agree, but sometimes it’s hard do find something about a specific subject ( I have experienced it, that why one od my story is in hiatus ).
I do not believe you have to personally experience trauma to write about it. There are many writers who write about the Holocaust who were not actual Holocaust victims. Writers who were never raped who write about the psychological damage rape victims suffer. People who were never slaves who make movies about the horrors of slavery. People who were never veterans who create murals about war. I’m currently writing a novel about the era of the Dominican dictator Rafael Trujillo, who committed many atrocities against humanity ( genocide, murder, etc) but I did not live in the era of Trujillo, nor did I suffer under his rule. However, I’ve done enough research and interviewed survivors who still remember his reign of terror and I know my book is as meaningful as someone who actually did live in the dark age of Trujillo. The terror of Trujillo is my plot point.
Many writers and artists and musicians create works of art based on painful experiences they did not actually go through. We as humans have this wonderful ability- it’s called empathy- and it allows us to understand and commiserate with one another’s pain even when it didn’t personally happen to us. It’s why we can cry seeing images of war torn lands we may never visit. It’s why we get sad when an acquaintance tells us of the death of their loved one we never met. It’s why we can get angry over injustices committed- Trayvon Martin’s death may have hurt you even if you’re not black American, the captives in North Korea sadden you even though you are not North Korean, the Syrian refugees trouble you even though you may not carry Syrian blood, the water crisis in Flint angers you even though your tap water is potable. And you may even be angry and hurt enough to want to create a story, a poem, a painting, a song about or in tribute to these events- even though it’s not your own personal pain.
Yes, trauma can be a plot point. It is OFTEN the plot point in movies, documentaries, songs, art. It is the plot point of the memorial to 9-11. It is the plot point in movies like Schindlers List, Roots, Boys Don’t Cry, The Burning Bed… movies where I’m certain not everyone who was a part of the movie actually experienced the topic at hand.
To never create works of art about traumatic events unless you personally experience them closes dialogue. It makes these experiences hidden, dark, it makes victims afraid to come forth and say, “ Thank you for understanding my pain”. It gives the perpetrators power in knowing that they inflicted pain and it was never meaningfully discussed.
Now do I think the Sims is the best medium to use in writing about traumatic events? Probably not. For many people, The Sims represents escape, a happy place, a cartoon land where dark topics shouldn’t penetrate. But to tell someone “Don’t write this because you can’t because you never went through it” is perhaps not being open-minded about whether the person is intelligent or sensitive enough to handle the topic. If they write about the topic using sensitivity and common sense, research and respect, and use the appropriate trigger warning tag, then yes. Absolutely trauma can be a plot point.

That’s maybe the reason why no one will like my other sims story ( not the medieval one ). However I can’t write about my own experience because I hate it and the story would be an incitement to hatred.
My personal experiences haven’t inspired any events or elements of this story.
Maybe that why the simmers hate it so much, but I did a lot of researches and I’m still doing researches for my medieval story.

So, my TS2 keeps crashing and I’m not sure how to stop it. Googling, I’ve found stuff about crashes that happen immediately, and crashes in Windows 10, but I don’t think those are my problem?
It actually started with my laptop which is still Windows 7, the very reason I moved my megahood and everything to my main PC (which does run Windows 10), because I assumed it was my laptop just being a bit old and struggling.
The game starts fine, and it’ll run fine for a while. But at some point it just freezes and crashes to desktop (or occasionally my whole computer will freeze and I’ll have to force shut down because it won’t do anything). The weirdest thing is where it crashes while I’m saving and going to neighbourhood after playing a household. When I load up the game again, that household’s preview on the neighbourhood screen will look as I left it, but the actual progress will have been lost (for example just recently I was playing the DeBateaus and they’d had a baby when I was playing them which was in their neighbourhood picture, but apparently that wasn’t really saved and the baby doesn’t exist >.<). The exact same thing (with a different household) happened on my laptop before I switched where a kid looked like a child on the neighbourhood screen because they’d aged up in the rotation but in the household she was still a toddler.
I can’t computers, but does anybody else get this and/or have you found an answer? It’s really annoying.
